Welcome
Welcome to Llano County. Located in the northern Texas Hill Country, Llano County is a unique combination of lowland valleys and rugged sandstone and granite formations such as the famous Enchanted Rock.
Within our county are two rivers and numerous creeks offering beautiful flowing water and tranquil lakes for recreation. This land was settled in the late 1840s by sturdy German immigrants and hearty pioneer cattlemen. Llano County was organized in 1856 along the banks of the Llano River at the location where the City of Llano, our county seat, stands today. With a population of 19,796, Llano County is a wonderful place to raise a family or enjoy a quiet retirement.
